You say "cement truck," we say...

"cement...hand-turn-thing...y?"

And THIS is "new technology"! Prior to THIS, construction workers here at New Hope mixed cement with a shovel in a manner that reminds me of fudge-making. Actually, to be honest, I shouldn't say "prior to this." Actually, to be honest, this new technology (that happens to be sitting across the path from my house) hasn't been used once in the past month that it's been sitting there. Actually, to be honest, the guys are still mixing cement "fudge-style."

There is a saying, "This is Africa!" (if you've heard it, you understand it).

Habits don't die easily anywhere. Sometimes I wonder if they EVER die here.
