Tai Goes to the Doctor

When we arrived at the office only 15 minutes before naptime, I was sure Tai's first doctor's visit would be a disaster. By the time I filled out the 10 papers that serve who-knows-what purpose, he was still quiet for the most part, but we were definitely walking the line between happy and sad (it's such a fine line with babies!). But thirty minutes later, though naked on the table, Tai was still happily doing his "cheer" (our term for his favorite pose lately: arms stretched above his head, hands clenched, and legs kicking in double-time). He had been measured, weighed, stretched and prodded. But then. Oh, but then... the needles came out! I don't think I have ever seen such a sad face! Thankfully, Shawn was unexpectedly able to be there, so I (Courtney) didn't have to hold the little guy. Tai just cried and gave Shawn this look that said, "Papa, why are you letting them do this to me?!" Such a sad face!
All three of us are glad that trip is over.

Some fun facts: At 8 1/2 weeks, Tai is 25 inches long, putting him in the 95th percentile of babies his age! At this rate he will definitely pass up his papa :). Tai weighs 12 lbs. 15.5 oz., which is in the 75th percentile. He likes his mama's milk :). Tai's head circumference is only in the 25th percentile, but we know there is a lot of brain packed into that tiny head!
